Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services. It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: last year, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
